Formula Buckeyes today announces the Leadership Team for the 2026 season.

This group serves as the backbone of the team, driving innovation, supporting members, and ensuring the program's long-term success on and off the track.

For the 2026 season, the Management Team includes Alex Forman, Matthew Hopkins, Mitchell Hooper, and Owen Chevalier. Together, they bring a mix of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for pushing boundaries.

Alex Forman – President and Composites Director

Alex, a senior material science major, brings a strong leadership presence and a clear vision for the team. He works closely with all sub-teams to maintain overall team direction and alignment on organizational goals, fostering a strong team dynamic.

Advice for members: Always show your passion, be involved, and ask for projects you’re willing to commit your time to.

Matthew Hopkins – Chief Engineer and Suspension Director

As a senior mechanical engineer and a fourth-year member, Matthew brings technical experience and focus to the management team. He ensures the team’s goals are met and that members and leads feel supported throughout the season.

Advice for members: Formula is hard and can push you past your limits, but it will make you a better engineer.

Mitchell Hooper – Project Manager and Business Director

Committed to strengthening team operations and business strategies, Mitchell, a senior finance major, ensures Formula Buckeyes continues to grow competitively and internally. His role is to secure the team's sponsors and lead the team’s logistical and financial operations to ensure the team has the resources needed to succeed.

Advice for members: Find ways to improve the team. Once you find something worth working on, do it well.

Owen Chevalier– Electrical Systems Director and Officer

Owen, a junior electrical engineer, is the leader for all things electrical. He oversees the design, integration, and reliability of the team’s new electrical systems. Focusing on precision, safety, and long-term development, Owen plays a vital role in ensuring the vehicle is competition-ready.

Advice for members: Formula is extremely mentally challenging, but the benefits and friends you make are worth it.

Throughout the season, the Meet the Leads series will highlight each member of our leadership team, showcasing their roles, backgrounds, and advice for the future of Formula Buckeyes.

With this leadership team in place, Formula Buckeyes is excited to take on the 2026 season and continue pushing the boundaries of collegiate motorsports.
