Meet the Electronics Team

As part of the Meet the Leads series, Formula Buckeyes is proud to introduce the leadership of the Electronics sub-team for the 2026 season.

Sid Joy– Accumulator Lead

Sid, a junior mechanical engineer, leads the design, assembly, and safety of the accumulator system, ensuring it meets all FSAE EV regulations and requirements. He oversees the configuration, design, and system integration with the team’s high voltage sub-team, verifying safety and reliability throughout the entire process.

Advice for members: Don’t be scared to ask for help, and make sure to keep your priorities on your grades

Hailey Krueger– Electronics Lead

As a sophomore electrical engineer, Hailey oversees the entire electronics system and aids in integration between high and low voltage. She leads PCB designs and ensures all systems communicate effectively across the car. She also plays a key role in mentoring members!

Advice for members: Don’t be afraid to seek help when needed!

Phil Brooks– High Voltage Electronics Lead

Phil is responsible for the development and integration of the car’s high voltage systems. Working closely with Sid on the accumulator, Phil works to manage components related to power delivery, safety, and ensuring every part complies.

Advice for members: Show up and ask questions

Ryan Gick– Low Voltage Electronics Lead

Junior electrical engineer, Ryan, manages the design and implementation of the low-voltage systems from sensors to wiring. He ensures reliable communication between components, troubleshoots problems, and teaches members how to tackle challenging problems.

Advice for members: Take on challenging projects

Matt Henry– Electronics Lead

Senior Matt Henry sports the overall electronics system, contributing to system integration, troubleshooting, design, and implementation across both high and low voltage electronics. He plays a role in ensuring the systems work together reliably and leads member development projects.
