Continuing on the Meet the Leads series, Formula Buckeyes is excited to spotlight the leadership of the suspension sub-team for the 2026 season.Â
The 2026 Suspension Team is led by Grayson Johnson, Zach Totaro, and Jackson Williams. Â Together, they work closely to design, test, and develop the entire suspension system, ensuring it meets performance goals and overall vehicle objectives.
Grayson Johnson– Suspension Lead
Grayson, a junior aerospace engineering major, takes a leading role in the planning and organization side of suspension. He is responsible for managing part orders, setting timelines, and coordinating meetings with members. Additionally, he contributes through hands-on, manual manufacturing and design, working in collaboration with the suspension sub-team to develop and refine the system.Â
Advice for members: Show up as much as you can so you can learn as much as possible
Zach Totaro– Suspension Lead
Sophomore mechanical engineer Zach plays a key role in the suspension team, focusing heavily on CNC programming and member development. He helps to produce complex components that are not practical to make by hand while ensuring that the suspension designs are manufacturable and within the team’s capabilities. Additionally, with his technical expertise, Zach spends most of his time training new members on shop equipment, particularly on the manual mills.Â
Advice for members: Always take accountability for your work, even your mistakes. Honesty is the best policy
Jackson Williams– Suspension Lead
As a sophomore mechanical engineer, Jackson focuses primarily on suspension design and member development. Working closely with members, he guides them through their individual projects while contributing to the overall suspension system design. On the manufacturing side, Jackson’s primary focus is control arm fabrication, ensuring the system is competition-ready.
Advice for members: The more time you put in, the more you will get out
